WhatsApp Business is Meta’s app and API for businesses to talk to their customers. Many teams also use WhatsApp groups to talk to each other. QuiC is built for that second job: internal communication that the organisation manages.
What each product offers for running a team’s communication. WhatsApp Business details are from Meta’s public pages, listed under Sources below.

Which one fits your team
When to choose QuiC
Your team talks inside WhatsApp groups today and you need to remove people when they leave, without asking them to delete anything.
You need an admin console, SCIM, audit-log export and retention, while keeping end-to-end encryption.
Work and personal chats should not share one phone number and one contact list.
You want scheduled meetings with a lobby and host controls alongside chat.
When WhatsApp Business may fit better
You mainly need to message customers on the app they already use. WhatsApp Business and its Platform are built for that; QuiC is not a customer-messaging channel.
Your team is a handful of people with no admin, compliance or offboarding needs.
Questions
Is QuiC a replacement for WhatsApp Business?
For talking to your own team, yes. For talking to customers on WhatsApp, no: QuiC is for internal communication and does not send messages to WhatsApp users.
Are QuiC messages as private as WhatsApp messages?
QuiC messages and one-to-one and group calls are end-to-end encrypted with the Signal Protocol, as WhatsApp chats are. The difference is that QuiC adds the organisation controls a company needs, such as removing a leaver and SCIM provisioning.
What happens to chats when an employee leaves?
In QuiC an admin deactivates the account and the person loses access on every device. In a WhatsApp group the chat stays on the former employee’s personal phone.
