Government and public sector

Encrypted official communication, with the record kept by your organisation

Departments need to coordinate quickly and securely, and to keep official records. QuiC combines end-to-end encryption with an organisation-controlled key for the record, so the vendor never holds the keys.

The problem

  • Official work on personal apps

Decisions and documents travel through consumer messaging groups with no official record.

  • Records must be kept

Public bodies must retain and be able to produce communications under their own rules.

  • Vendor access

Officials need assurance that the service provider cannot read their communications.

How QuiC helps

  • Organisation-controlled key (Enterprise)

Your department holds the key to its message record in its own key-management service. QuiC is given only the public half and cannot decrypt.

  • Managed identities

SCIM provisioning, roles, approval of access requests and device management from one console.

  • Encrypted meetings

Admins can require end-to-end encrypted meetings, or allow "Recording & AI notes" meetings where minutes are needed.

  • Procurement

Buy through AWS Marketplace, or talk to us about an agreement for your organisation.

Security and compliance

Exactly what is protected

The Privacy Policy sets out what encryption covers and what it doesn’t.

  • Messages and attachments are end-to-end encrypted with the Signal Protocol; QuiC’s servers store and relay only ciphertext.
  • One-to-one and group voice and video calls are end-to-end encrypted on current apps.
  • Enterprise: an organisation-controlled key lets your organisation (not QuiC) decrypt, keep and export its members’ messages for regulatory record-keeping. Those chats show a banner instead of "end-to-end encrypted", and members are told at least 7 days before capture starts.
  • Each meeting is either end-to-end encrypted, or set up for "Recording & AI notes". Recording meetings are encrypted in transit and at rest but not end-to-end; admins choose the default or require end-to-end encryption.
  • QuiC runs on Google Cloud in the Singapore region today. Talk to us if you have data-location requirements.
  • AeonX Digital, which builds and runs QuiC, is certified to ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO 9001:2015. SOC 2 Type II is in progress.

Talk to us about your requirements

We’ll walk you through encryption, the organisation-controlled key and admin controls, and size an agreement for you. Enterprise is also on AWS Marketplace.
